For many of us it is not our desire to replace God.  It is our subtle attempts to channel the joy, peace, pleasure…the contentment that can only come from Him through these other channels. 

We have this sense that God is not giving us enough joy, enough peace, enough pleasure, enough contentment so we grab hold of something tangible that we know will make us happy.
