We begin this Sunday with the introduction to the 10 Commandments. It forms the foundation for a proper understanding of the law. Without the introduction, we risk falling into legalism. Legalism leads to self-righteousness, comparison, guilt, and all kinds of negative spiritual bondage. It is to be avoided at all costs! It stands in opposition to God's grace.

But, you may say, the 10 Commandments are from the Old Testament. We are no longer under the Old Testament law. We will try to clear up some of the confusion about which Old Testament laws still apply and which ones do not. Jesus reminds us He did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it.
