Series: When Life Hurts

Why Does God Allow Suffering?

April 19, 2020 | Kris Vos

The problem of human suffering is one of the greatest barriers to faith. Many of you cannot believe in a God who would sit by and allow so much pain and suffering. Allow it He does, but "sit by" He does not. The story of Job gives us insight into the enigma of suffering. Those insights don't jump out at us, we have to do a little digging into the story. This series of messages will not give you sound bytes, bumper sticker theology or pat answers to the problem of human suffering. There is a lot of that floating around in our world and often it does more harm than good. We will attempt to wrestle honestly with the darkness.
