Forgiveness is never easy. When it is accompanied by genuine repentance of the offending party it can be easier. More often it is not and we must forgive anyway. Why should we forgive when the one who has wronged us has not asked for forgiveness. Well, it is what God has done for us. While we were yet sinners Christ died for us. He not only forgave us though we were unrepentant, He gave His life for us. If He is the one we seek to emulate then we forgive others as He has forgiven us.
